I wont say it isnt possible. Then again it depends on when you are planning on visiting. If you go in the busy period then you may only see more than 2 stars if you are looking in the sky. The best flight and hotel deals are usually found between Mid September to early December. These are your best opportunities to get more for less. Planning a Havaian vacation but really don't know what is the best island or group of islands to see.I would like to get the best overall vacation.I would like to see Pearl Harbor,some volcanos and spend some time on a nice beach.I would also like to squeeze in a helicopter ride if possible.Anyone know of any package deals? I see this as probably a one time trip because I'm on the east coast.Most of my vacations are more reasonable to Mexico or the Carribean because of travel.

My husband and I just got back from taking a cruise around the islands, it was really fun and we got to see the main 4 islands, Hawaii, Maui, Kuaui and Oahu. We went with NCL, here's their website:

They have different itineraries and you can sign up to do shore excursions, like the helicoper rides. We didn't do it because it was too expensive but we went on 4 other shore excursions so it was fun. I'm really glad we decided on taking a cruise instead of flying from island to island because it was really easy. Good luck planning and have fun!

I've been checking on prices and they're like $750 to $1500. Iwould like to find out other competitive prices out there. My sister just went to Hawaii and she spent $500 for a 5 day package. Just looking to see if there are others like that. I asked her where she got it, she said her friend booked it for her and she already went back to russia. So, no luck for me.

Just like everyone I dont make a lot of money and would like to travel for cheap and still have a great time. I do know some people there but not that close to them.

Who has the best offers for military? Or is there another way to see all the islands without going on the major cruiselines(Carnival, NCL, Celebrity, etc). I heard the best way to travel all the islands is indeed to travel through a cruise… but if you have better ideas let me know. As I said also let me know the best cruise options. I am deploying in September and want to take my wife to Hawaii when I get back. Thanks!

Carnival gives a very nice military discount to AD, Retiress AND Veterans.. all you need is a DD-214 showing at least 2 years honorable service or a current ID. But not all sailings have them, and there are limited numbers available.

OR you could utilize the Hale Koa, the DoD run resort in Waikiki on Ft DeRussy. rates are based on paygrade, and are loads cheaper than anywhere else in Waikiki. There is also another resort on Maui or the Big Island, I think..

When i go on my vacation to hawaii…what kind of hawaiiany cute piece of clothing should i buy? Where should i get it? If you have been to hawaii and know of some great places to shop for stuff that u won't get on the continental US, please answer back.

check out hilo hatties and the abc store. since i no longer live in hawaii i tend to shop at those stores to get hawaiian print clothing that i can wear up here in washington. they are located on every island…i think…at least the abc store should be. you'll find shirts, shorts, skirts, wrap arounds, dresses, flip flops, bikinis…you name it…they probably have it. good luck and have fun! alooooha!!

I recommend staying at least 10 days. There is lots to see and do if you have never been there. Maui is our personal favorite. This is a pretty good deal if you are looking for a family friendly decent resort:

Free rental car, nice buffet breakfast every morning, free cocktails every evening for 2 hours and other freebies as well. We did this last year and were quite happy with it.
If you want to go super-cheap, there are various camping areas.

I'm preparing a video montage of pictures from my recent Hawaii vacation and want to use a very uptempo Hawaii-esque song. Preferably including a ukulele or Elvis. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Elvis' Hawaiian works (as wonderful and talented a singer as he was) would hardly classify as "classic Hawaiian". The Beach Boys' surfing themes centered around the Southern California.
The following songs are very upbeat, includes ukulele, and are modern contemporary classics: Drop Baby Drop, Feel Good Island Music, Aloha Friday, Pata Pata, Masese, Tahiti-Tahiti, Island Style, Ki Taku Poi E, Ua Tofia.
For earlier up-tempo classics, look up works performed by Palani Vaughn, Makaha Sons, Keali'i Reichel, Peter Moon, the Beamer Bros., including Hula Kahiko chants.
