I just started seeing this guy for 2 months (met him online). So far things have been good; nothing to worry about- he’s not wanted by the police or anything haha. I am planning a trip for spring break (end of March) to Cancun. we live in California so it is a pretty far vacation. I was wondering what you guys think about inviting him to join me and my friends (all coupled up) to go for a 5 days vacation. Recently he invited me to go to Hawaii with him and his friends over winter break (december)- I told him no.

My question is, is it too far ahead to plan in advance. By the time we’re in Cancun, it will be ~6 months (if we’re still together). I have to ask him soon because I like to plan early and booking early means getting better deals in terms of hotel & airfare. But I dont want to regret asking him if it turns out things dont work out. Too soon? If yes, when should I ask him? I’m confused!

How should I ask him? I’m afraid I’ll scare him off by moving too fast. Be honest please!

That could be the vacation from heaven of the one from hell. Two months isn’t very long and you’re still blind. Ask your friends to HONESTLY tell you how they see him. Is he controlling, a tightwad, volitile temper, seem to be hiding something and so on. Promise them that you won’t be mad at them if the say something negative about him and keep your word. If you can’t do that, then invite him and if things turn south, keep your mouth shut and don’t go whining to your friends later.

I will be going to Hawaii in the summer of 2011 with about 10 people or so.
I am supposed to be planning the trip to get the approximate cost, but I do not know anything about Hawaii.

If you have been there, what is a great place to stay? (like cities)
What was the cost of your trip?

And if you are not busy, will you help me find a trip package on expedia.com or something?
We will depart from Salt Lake City, Utah

Thanks So Much!! (:

I’m from SLC as well and when I went we stayed in Maui for about 3 days and it was amazing! The water is warm and it’s just so relaxing! I would say spend some time there for sure. We went pretty high end, our total was about 13,000 for 7 people. I know there are way cheaper ways to do it. Shop online for deals on hotels and all inclusive packages and group rates to get the best price. Good luck!

Are you planning a family vacation for the whole family? Resorts now offer family vacation packages and accommodations to make planning your vacation easier.

Many resorts throughout the world are paying attention to families needs and wants. Many offer on site baby sitters, buffet meals, spacious suites, kitchens, kids clubs and activities, evening shows that please both children and adults and offer many other amenities.

What is the best way to choose a Kauai Resort for your family vacation? This article provides you with a checklist that helps you choose the Kauai Resort that best fits your family.

What do Kauai resorts offer? For families with several kids, a suite with bedrooms and a mini kitchen to store all the necessities is ideal for families. With this it is possible to feed the kids meals from the room and put them to bed in a quiet room.

See if the resort offers childcare. Some resorts now offer on call baby sitters if parents would like to go out without the kids. Most Kauai Resorts that provide this service to families have kids clubs, where children can go and play, while being supervised. Most Kauai Resorts that have all-inclusive packages will offer this kind of service. Few resorts offer infant care, so be sure to check the child care options if you have an infant.

Food: Find out if the food provided at the resort is family friendly. Many resorts offer buffets for families, which are great for families with young children or those who have picky eaters. Nearly every resort that offers all inclusive packages offer buffets, if not then find out if the on-site restaurant serves family friendly food.

Swimming: Most children like to swim. If you have a toddler, then check to see if the resort has a small wading pool for the small swimmers.

Evening entertainment: Many resorts that offer all-inclusive packages offer some sort of after dinner entertainment and often there are shows where the kids can get up on stage and participate.

Inclusions: Deciding to stay in an all-inclusive Kauai Resort is good, but you have to find the right one for your family. One way you can choose the resort is by narrowing down the amenities that each resort provides. Include the cost of your stay, food, drinks, snacks, room service, and etcetera. Most of the time it does not include alcohol.  Kauai offers many beach resorts so consider including water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, and scuba diving.

Enjoy your family vacation and make memories to last a lifetime!

Choose a destination where you would like to travel to if you won a FREE trip and explain why you would want to go there. Here they are:

Destination # 1: New York City

Destination # 2: Italy (package includes Rome/Venice/Milan/Tuscany

Destination # 3: Paris, France

Destination # 4: Philippines

Destination # 5: India

Destination # 6: China

Destination # 7: London, England

Destination # 8: Disneyworld (Orlando, Florida)

Destination # 9: Disneyland (Anaheim, California)

Destination # 10: Pocono Mountains

Destination # 11: Puerto Vallerta, Mexico

Destination # 12: Bahamas/Carribean/Jamaica

Destination # 13: Hawaii

Destination # 14: Tokyo, Japan

Destination # 15: Sydney, Australia

Destination # 16: Switzerland

Destination # 17: Las Vegas, Nevada

Destination # 18: Cairo, Egypt
Remember you can only choose ONE destination. If you choose more than one destination, you have to pay for the extra destinations. Unless you don’t have a problem with that.

I would definitely take the trip destination #2 to Italy. It has been my lifetime dream to see the ruins in Rome. The history is so incredible. The architecture and the history behind each and every building is in my opinion the worlds greatest treasure. St. Peters Basilica, St.Peters in Chains and the other 900 or so churches are all incredible works of art. To sit in the Colosseum and envision the chariot races would be awesome. The works of art and sculptures of artists like Michelangelo are the best in the world. I would love to ride a gondola through Venice, tour the castles in Tuscany, and explore every inch of that part of the world. I can’t imagine a minute being boring there. I think every child has pretended to be a knight in shining armour or the princess in a castle. To actually stand in the spot that your childhood dreams were made of would be mind boggling. There’s just too much to see and learn. To me it’s just like a whole different world and a piece of history that could never be replicated or rebuilt. I really worry that with all the strife in the world it may not be there for the next generation to appreciate.

There is a wilderness program called pacific quest located in hilo Hawaii. I would like to know where the kids travel too. If someone lives in the area they perhaps seen kids traveling in groups in a forest. They live on an organic farm during there stay. I know where there offices are, but not where they travel and hike about. This would help a great deal.

Pacific Quest students, ages 14-17, live and work in a base camp setting nestled in an 8 acre organic farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. Once they achieve personal goals pertaining to their beliefs and strengths, they expand their contact beyond the staff and professionals and family to interact with the community of Ka’u, Hawaii. Ka’u is a large, rural area which, until 1996, was dominated by sugar cane farming. The students meet craftsmen and artists, perform community projects and participate in cultural ceremonies.

I’m planning my honeymoon and I want to go to two islands in Hawaii (The Big Island and Maui) so I’m using Expedia.com because its the only travel site that allows you to book a flight and a hotel to multiple destinations within one "trip" I look online everyday and keep finding different prices for the same travel package.

Does anyone know when the best time to book is? When do prices tend to fluctuate towards the cheaper end of the spectrum? Someone told me that in the middle of the night on Thursdays is when flights update their prices and it might be cheaper then, has anyone heard this before? Also any other advice is welcome. Thanks!

I searched on this site and got the Cheapest Flight, check it out,it also had discount coupon codes for expedia, orbitz, travelocity, kayak, priceline, etc.

Why does Hawaii have an interstate highway?

Does a massage therapist, who is not an employee of an establishment, have to pay a commission on referred work in the state of Hawaii? I rent a room from a chiropractor. If the doctor refers no-fault auto insurance cases to me, I fork over half of my fee. If I bring in my own patients, I keep the entire fee for myself. It is my understanding this practice is illegal and/or unethical. Can’t find any Hawaii State laws or statutes in writing. Anyone know?

Cookin’ in Hawaii, I suggest you call a local auto insurance agent to help. Since I live in Wyoming I can’t suggest an agent in Hawaii, but here is an online resource that can help you. http://www.multipleautoinsurancequotes.com/Hawaii-Car-Insurance-Quotes.html

Good Luck!

I want to live in Hawaii, but I know its very, very expensive. So what is a good salary if I want to live comfortably in Hawaii, not having to struggle to buy food and gas. I just want to be an average person there. I dont want money to be a huge problem. I understand having to cut back once in a while, but for the most part I want to just be able to go for a smoothie when I want and buy that really cute shirt, even if I dotn NEED it.

Thanks!

Aloha – to answer your question, be sure to do your research. What I’ve found is median income to live comfortably (not rich, not poor) is between $58,000 and $60,000. So you’ll want to make sure to have skills that will help you find a career in a substantial field to achieve that level.

You can probably do with less but this is what I found in my reading, to answer your question

Best wishes!
