My long-lost love EX BF & I have became re-aquanted, and (PLS READ OPEN QUESTION) Just split from his current girl he was "seeing" for 4weeks. Due to the fact that when they are fighting, he thinks of me, and now that we have started talking again, the old feelings are coming back. We talk almost ALL day, online and on the phone. He really wants me to come see him, in INDIANA, but he lives in SanDiego, he is there for a business deal, as he travels a lot for work. Should I go see him there? I REALLY want to, and I DO feel like this could be MY happily ever after. What does everyone think? Am I being just crazy, he is a VERY honest person. And he tells me he cares for me, and never stopped. But, due to the fact that he moved to the mainland, and Im in Hawaii. It didnt make sense. WE understand each other better than anyone else does in the world. Could this be REAL? Am I a fool to want to go see him? And him want me to? IS this a good way to start our relationship up again?
He is willing to pay for the ticket, and the only reason we are going to see each other in INDIANA instead of SAN DIEGO, is because we JUST started to talk New Years Eve, and he had to drive to Indiana for work the next day… But he will be there for 2 months, and Too much time has gone by, and I really want to see him, as he does to me too.
IF things work out this time, I will move from Hawaii to San Diego to help him be successful with him business…. And be there with him, since he has a life set up there already, its easier for me to move there, before I didnt want to go…

I think if you feel like your feelings are this strong and that you trust his word, then go for it. If you want it to be longterm though, you need to consider why you guys broke up in the first place and if you are now in a situation to move past those problems. If the problem was simply because of the distance, how are you going to resolve that now since you are still living in two different places? You don’t want to be flying back and forth to see each other for a weekend once in a while do you? That probably won’t go very far. If both of you are serious about getting back together, I don’t see a problem with starting it off just meeting for a few days in IN, because at least then you can see if that spark you see/feel through the phone/internet is real and lasts in person. If there is potential, you NEED to take that time to discuss the long term. If you can come to a solution regarding the distance and any other problems you might have faced, then you are off to a great start. Having strong feelings for each other is definitely a plus, but it isn’t all you will need if you want to last. Good luck.

(DONT THINK IM STUCK UP CUZ I MODEL. ITS NOT A BIG DEAL… ITS JUST A JOB) Anyways, I’m an aspiring model. There’s this huge thing that I was invited to by a model scouting company… there’s going to be the top 50 agencies (in the world) there. I was overjoyed to be invited but 1) It’s going to cost some big bucks, like $700 for the fee, food, hotel, etc. 2) I’ve been told (if I get signed) they might want me to move to closer to LA, NY, etc. Or I could end up being pulled out of public school so I can travel, etc. My friend does Abercrombie ads and he’s home schooled and gets to fly to Hawaii and other cool places but imagine how different his life has become because of that…
So what would you do? Would you drop everything if you’re big chance to become rich N famous came to you?

If that’s your dream, then yes, go for it. Just weigh the pros and cons. Once you become famous, you can never go back to being a regular person. DOn’t do it just to become rich and famous. That will not make you happy in the long run. But if you love modeling and that’s your dream job, then the fame and fortune wouldn’t matter either way. Just be sure that you’re wanting to do this for the right reasons. Make sure you’re willing to give up a great deal of your life to this.

Hey all- I’ve been narrowing down my major choices and I think wildlife and agronomy sound the most interesting to me. In case you didn’t know, agronomy is a branch of plant science that deals with field crops. I must truly say that wildlife is my first love, but i’m not sure if it fits as well into the jigsaw puzzle of the rest of my life. I want to travel and be able to have a good job with good pay and job security- it seems like agronomy is just that. I mean, everyone’s gotta eat and develop new plants to feed the world! I was looking on a job website for it too, and jobs studying sugarcane in Hawaii and Jamaica seemed almost plentiful. And of course I could always come back to study corn back in the boonies. However, I feel really strongly about wildlife and I want to help them, and I love animals a lot. It’s saddening though knowing the jobs are pretty much not there. What’s a guy to do? Do i go for my first love, or something cool that’s also practical? Thanks for the help!

I wonder if range management might be a suitable compromise for you? I am not in the industry and don’t know what the job outlook is, but it seems like it ought to be somewhat more secure because it’s less "cool" job than wildlife biologist (so probably less competition) and there is so much rangeland around the world that needs to be taken care of. Again, that’s entirely my supposition, so be sure to do actual research, but as the public grows more aware of the health and environmental benefits of exclusively grassfed meats, I think there is likely to be growing demand for well-managed pasture farming/ranching operations. Additionally, there are many opportunities to help wildlife by maintaining biodiversity on well-managed range, and I know some organizations like the Nature Conservancy employ range managers for their holdings in the West, which often have virgin or restored prairie with bison herds, black footed ferret populations or similar.

If you’re not interested in prairies, agroforestry is another somewhat similar field, especially if you find a program that is more sympathetic to the sustainability and environmental issues involved.

Last summer, I was invited to my friends’ surprise engagement party. What was supposed to be a wine party turned into an engagement party when the hosts surprised us with their news. The bride-to-be even asked me if I would travel to Colorado for their wedding (we live in NY). I said yes. I received a save-the-date card with an August wedding date by Nov. But it’s already March, and I still haven’t gotten the actual wedding invite yet. I realize it might still be too early, but in a twist of fate, I recieved an invite to a 2nd wedding, 2 days after this one, in Hawaii! I’d like to attend both events, but am worried about costs. I just found some awesome flight deals from New York to Colorado to Hawaii, and back. Should I wait for the Colorado wedding invitation before booking? Or should I book the flights, and HOPE I got invited?? I ASSUME I’m invited since I was present at their engagement party, and received a save-the-date card. Is it impolite to ask when I should expect the invite?
I know the save-the-date card should be enough confirmation. But last year, I was invited to another set of friends’ housewarming party. When they got married 10 months later, I wasn’t invited, and I was confused and offended by that. I was good enough for their housewarming, but not good enough for their wedding??! Once bitten, twice shy, I’m now wary of assuming these things. But the flight deals I found are too good to pass up!!

Wedding invites usually go out 6-8 weeks before the actual event (if they’re sent too far in advance, people lose track of the date). A ‘Save the Date’ card means you will be invited (that’s what they’re for, after all). If you’re too nervous to book without final confirmation, call your friend and tell her you’re trying to book an inexpensive flight and confirm the date- I’m sure she’ll be thrilled you’re making the effort. Have fun!

Hi-although I travel a lot, most of my trips involve backpacking and very little organisation!

However, I now need to book a ‘proper’ trip for my mum’s 60th birthday and I want to send her and her sister to Hawaii….which websites are good for this??

I need a reputable site which offers good deals…preferably a discount for hotels and flights booked together. Have tried Expedia, but now looking for other ones.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks
