That is the week that most of the hotels and condos are full, so they can get away with charging their highest prices, and are not likely to be giving any good deals, nor are they likely to have rooms available if you wait until you get there. For a hotel on Maui that is not as expensive as the newest biggest resorts, I suggest the Kaanapali Beach Hotel.
