Cruises you pay in installments before you go? giving you a year to pay for it?
Particularly curious about Hawaii vacations and Alaskan cruises.

When you make your cruise booking, you just need to place a deposit. Final payment is due 90 days prior to sailing. Many travel agents will allow you to make several payments prior your final payment.

Help, i'm really wanted to go on a Hawaii cruise 1st wk of June, between Jun 1st-10th unfortunately our vacation days are not flexible. It's really hard for us to ask any days off at all. I checked around and it seems like almost everything is booked. Would it be better if I use a travel agents or which website I should go through? Any tips on how I could get the best deal for the week I wanted to go? Thanks

DEFINITELY use a travel agent. Personally I don't like to cruise Hawaii as I feel you do not get enough time in port. I believe you would be better off speaking with an experienced travel agent outlining what your interests and budget are, so you can get an experience customized to your desires. I've been searching and only see cruises to Hawaii. Vacations plans would work better to cruise back from Hawaii not to Hawaii.

The answer to your question is: ABSOLUTELY – and the bonus here is that its on my favorite cruise line – Celebrity!

Celebrity offers one-way Hawaii cruises where you spend 7 days cruising the islands and then 5 days "at-sea" returning to North America – generally, Ensenada, Mexico.

Princess also does one-way cruises, but only to a few islands and only when they "reposition" one of their ships to the South Pacific.

NCL cruises only in/around the islands – doesn't return to N. America.

Finally, the absolute best advice I can give you is not to use a travel website, but to talk to a good travel agent. Tell him/her what your needs are, and that "you are looking for the best deal".

There is no additional cost or hidden fees for their services and you'll have a name and a face to speak to, rather than merely inputting your name, address and credit card into an on-line form and hoping for the best! Personal service is everything.

Remember – planning the trip is a lot of the fun of travel.

Where can I find a cheap 7 day cruise to Hawaii, that is scheduled for December 07 or January 08, for 3 people. I know I heard on the news the other day that January-March is "wave season" where the cruise lines give out great deals but how do I find them? I've tried, Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruise Lines, Norwiegan (sp?) Cruise line, and Carnival and I haven't found a 7 day cruise yet. Anyone know of a travel agency online that could help or where to go for a great deal?

Anyone have any use-able suggestions? Other than "You'll be looking for a long time" Oh and cheap is if possible no more than 1000 per person, I live in California so maybe a departure from LAX or a Flight included into the price to Hawaii for the departure.

NCL America (a subsidiary of NCL) is the only cruise line that offers 7 day cruises of Hawaii. These are typically round trip from Honolulu. Every other cruise line offers 10+ day sailings around or to Hawaii, but they do not offer 7 day Hawaii sailings.

However, NCL America only offers Sunday and Monday departures and the dates you list are a Saturday and a Tuesday.

Booking this far out for Hawaii is actually a VERY good idea. Hawaii is very popular so it becomes harder to find sales as you get closer to the departure date on Hawaii itineraries.

However, what is going to make it difficult for you is the hard dates you've set. In your case, you need to shift your departure dates either one day forward or one day back in order to even find a sailing. However if you an add a little more flexibility you may be able to stumble on a terrific deal. Many times, the same itinerary can be several hundred dollars cheaper if you can sail a week earlier or later than you were first looking at.

Call a travel agent that specializes in cruises and they can help you out. I recommend Cruise Planners at 888-286-9827 over an internet site since you'll be talking to a live person, plus there's not service charge for dealing with them!
