Well, we are on a budget and want to go somewhere warm this February, and are okay with flying for the most part, just nothing too long (like Hawaii). Any good hotels in warm places? Also, where can I get the best travel deals?

San Diego, California. Warm weather outside of Hawaii, friendly people, beautiful beaches. What more could you ask for? San Diego also has Sea World, the world-famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park (filled with gardens and museums), Legoland, the Wild Animal Park, and great restaurants. Disneyland in Anaheim is also within driving distance.

You could stay at the Hotel del Coronado, which is beautiful, or go for a slightly less pricey hotel in downtown San Diego. The hotels in Mission Valley are way cheaper but not as nice as the ones in downtown, so it's a tradeoff between price and quality, in my opinion. Get the best travel deals in the usual places – Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia. Use sidestep.com or qixo.com to compare fares. Happy traveling!

Use to be Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays but now that they have branched out a bit they needed a more inclusive name. Still the best deal in town and can't be beat for price. If your spring break is the week before or after Easter, don't expect any big discounts. However if it's a different week, you can. Spring isn't a high season in Hawaii and discounts are easy to find until May.

They have discounts for just about every property in Hawaii including airfares. You just can't put together a better price on your own. Make sure your deal includes breakfast and a rental car as those are two great dollar savers to have. If you really want to save money, your best bet is one of the hotels not on the beach on Oahu, or the Kihei beach area of Maui.

My husband and I have been talking about going to Hawaii on vacation in July. We have 3 children who are well behaved that we would be bringing along with us. I understand it is expensive but we are not trying to go Crazily expensive.

Anyhow, I am not to crazy about being around large crowds. I would really like to be in a quite atmosphere with beautiful scenery. Near (pretty close) to a beach (which is not overwhelmed with alot of people). We just want to relax but all the while make it enjoyable for the children and of course ourselves.

We have been on Vacations before, like the Florida & Carolina Scenes, the theme parks that come along with it and such on. Seems like everytime we go on vacation it ends up so hectic and though we have enjoyed it to an extent, it can be more stressful than the work atmosphere. We have always been so exhausted afterwards from the vacation.

Just to be able to go somewhere (Hawaii) beautiful, swim, and just hang out with each other quietly.

Go to the Island of Maui, a little town called Kihei (pronounced "key-hay"). It is near the swanky resort town of Waialea, but it is low key and not dominated by the big resort hotels. It should be a little less expensive than Kapalua and Ka'anapali over on the other side. It is right on the beach and there are numerous hotels and apts/condos that you can rent by the week with lots of reasonable restaraunts and food stores nearby to stock up for the week.

It is very centrally located to the scenic attractions too. It is just a few minutes drive from the Maui Ocean Center and the road up to the top of Haleakula (a 10,000 FT peak with an observatory on top). It is a great drive to the peak and there is even a Bike Tour called Bicycle Bob's that will let you coast all the way back down to the bottom. It is pretty cool.

There is a black sand beach open to the public about 5 miles to the west and you can get hooked up with any snorkel, surfiing, or fishing excursions from Kihei. Make sure you try the fish tacos at Maui Tacos. They're pretty good.

Where do you look to find package deals for a hotel, car & flight?
This would be our first real family vacation…I have never dealt with planning something like this and have no clue where to go or how to even begin….I want the best priced package deal with flight/car/hotel and want to go to Poipu Beach in about a years time so this is why I’m starting now…Any tips would be great…Any reputable websites or agencies… It will be for a family of 5 or 6 if this matters…Thanks

Don't get a timeshare!

Find a condo to stay in – they are the best deals, and you get a kitchen so you can save on food (going out is expensive there) and you'll have a washer and dryer which is great with kids so you can wash the swimsuits, towels, etc. You can search for condos online. Here is a site. I'm sorry I've only been to Poipu (on Kauai) twice and that was for work so they put me up in a hotel, but I've been to Maui lots of times and lived there too, and I always stay in a condo when I go back.
Here's a site that lists some condos to rent in Poipu.

also will give you some great info on your Hawaii

After our baby reaches 1-2 months old, we'd love to take a week's vacation as a family to Hawaii. We're hoping to find somewhere private, out of the way and quiet. These factors are more important than cost. Any ideas?

Unfortunately Hawaii is generally not as fun for very young families. Kids under 12 don't seem to get into all of the scenic wonder and tend to be bored. When they are bored the parents suffer.
Many people from the mainland are coming very long distances. From Chicago it's at least a 10 hour flight "non-stop" which is a real killer for small kids to stay cooped up on an airplane that long.
Most activities are boring to kids (Pearl Harbor) or too dangerous for kids (riding a bicycle downhill on a volcano). Even swimming in the ocean has to be done with great care.
The best advice, and I know you don't want to hear it, Leave the kids with realatives and just the grownups come and enjoy yourself.

Me and my husband are wanting to take our first vacation with are 2 small children 6&7 we are also wanting to renew our vows while we are there haven’t done alot of traveling and was wondering if anyone has been anywhere specific that was nice who you went through and about how much packages start at, we are not dead set on hawaii just somewhere warm and nice for family’s.

Maui woudl be the best island for your family vacation. You could a nice condo on the beach with a view for reasonable. I cannot tell you how much as I do not know when you want to travel.

Whomever you go through make sure they do not charge any fees, and that all taxes and Hawaii Road fees are included in your price.

THe cheapest time to travel to Hawaii is Sept-Dec avoiding Holidays and the Month of May.
